As a professional scout for San Diego, in the off season, I get a chance to familiarize myself with local talent of the St. Louis area. I came in contact with Jerry 3 years ago in my winter camps. It was obvious right away that this boy had a burning passion and desire for the game. A strong kid with some punch in his bat, I also liked the way that he worked behind the plate, and handled pitchers. I didn’t have an opportunity to observe his arm strength however, as we were working inside. Obviously, arm strength is an important key behind the plate, so I will try to evaluate that part of his game sometime this winter, to greater assist you in your evaluation.
Jerry’s academic excellence adds to his attractiveness. Having coached on the college level for 22 years, I know how comforting it is to have players on your team with academic prowess.

An Illinois product John has opened up many eyes in the Mid West. He is projected to be one of the top catchers in high school. We first met Zachary at our Battle of the States II back in 2005. He is a 6.7 runner and an outstanding outfielder shown by his ability to always get to the ball. Zachary will prevent a runner from taking the extra base. He has a strong arm with tremendous accuracy. He is a power hitter capable of hitting the long ball and can hit to all fields. He has a quick bat and is a line drive hitter. Zachary is an excellent student with a 3.47 GPA and should be heavily recruited by top academic colleges in 2007.

Scouting Report
An ’09 outfielder with good speed (7.06 60yd) he covered a lot of ground. Showed a good strong throwing arm from the deep outfield. On the mound he peaked at 84 MPH. We feel he will reach the high 80’s as he matures physically. Has good solid fundamentals and good command of the strike zone. An excellent student (see above). Blake will be a good prospect to follow.
