Team Gainesville coached by Roger Strecker won the tournament in seven exciting games, while going undefeated.  The championship game in the Astros stadium featured Gainesville and the Georgia Star in a tight contest.  Our hats go off to both teams for their unbelievable play during the entire event.  The MVP of the tournament was Michael Smith from Providence High School in Jacksonville Florida.  He will receive an engraved Maple Bat from the Old Hickory Bat Corporation from Tennessee.    

The showcase tournament drew over 50 colleges and a number of Pro Scouts, despite the fact that Southern Florida was hit by hurricane Wilma a few days prior to the event.  There was some awesome talent displayed at the event including a number of long homeruns and 90 MPH pitching.  Our thanks go out to the staff at the Osceola Stadium Complex and the Houston Astros for hosting this fine event.
