Dirty Brushes

Using olive oil tends to wash the bristles. Professional make-up brushes are made of goat or horsehair. The oil conditions the bristles on the brush because it is the same one when we use conditioner on our hair. The same goes for synthetic make-up brushes as well.

Dirty Hands

You want to wash your hands properly before putting on make-up. Your hands can absorb a whole series of germs that can be transferred into make-up containers together with your face, which can pose considerable health risks as these germs grow over time. It is best to use antibacterial soap and water after washing your hands. Do not forget to clean your nails if you have long nails. Nails are a refuge for fungal growth and bacteria.

Be sure to remove all jewelry, such as rings or bracelets. When wearing a wedding ring and do not want to take it off, wash your hands and twist your ring on your finger to make sure that you have cleaned the skin on the ring finger and the area inside your ring.

Dirty Sponges

Make-up sponges are made disposable, but that doesn’t mean you have to throw them away and after using them for a few days.

These make-up sponges become a breeding ground for germs. What are your options in case you need to use a make-up sponge? As soon as you finish using disposable make-up sponges, throw them away. If you want something environmentally friendly, consider buying a make-up sponge that is washable and reusable.
